CMY mixing gives continuous colour for theatrical work. Fixed colour wheels are faster and more saturated, which suits concert and DJ looks.
Fan noise is the single most common regret in worship, theatre, and broadcast purchases. Always ask about it before specifying a fixture for a quiet room.

The more useful question is positions rather than count — a symmetrical rig with fixtures on both truss ends and a back line reads far better than the same number of fixtures crowded together.
If your looks change within a show — different songs, scenes, or segments — moving heads replace several static fixtures each and pay for themselves in truss space and circuit count. For a single unchanging look, static fixtures are more cost-effective.
